Conference 'People: The Epicenter of Agri-Food Cooperativism'

People, the central axis of agri-food cooperatives at the Agri-Food Cooperatives Chair conference The Chair of Agri-Food Cooperatives, together with Cooperatives Agro-alimentàries of the Valencian Community and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España, is organizing the conference "People: The Epicenter of Agri-Food Cooperativism" on Monday, June 16. This event seeks to highlight the central role of people in the development and sustainability of the agri-food cooperative model. The event, which will be held in person at the Caixa Popular headquarters in the Paterna Technology Park (Valencia), is sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana, Caixa Popular, and the University of Valencia. It will bring together institutional, academic, and professional representatives from the sector. The session will open with a working breakfast. TechCare final conference: Welfare & technologies in small ruminant systems

The TechCare final conference will include presentations from the sister projects and the presentation of the project's main results regarding well-being assessments and their priorities, as well as the activities carried out in the pilot and large-scale phases. The online tools developed will also be presented, along with promising prototypes. The conference will conclude with a panel discussion on well-being and innovations, featuring key stakeholders. TechCare (2020-2025) aimed to demonstrate innovative approaches to monitoring animal welfare indicators and improving welfare management in small ruminant (SR) systems through precision livestock farming (PHG) technologies along the entire production chain, enabling all stakeholders, from farmers to consumers and regulatory bodies, to choose welfare-friendly products. Applications are now open for the "emprendecoop" campus.

The registration period will be open from March 4 to April 21, 2025 . Emprendecoop is an initiative promoted by the Agro-Food Cooperatives of Andalusia in collaboration with DCOOP. It aims to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the agri-food sector by providing participants with the tools they need to enhance their creativity. 25 young people between the ages of 18 and 25 will be divided into groups of five to work on developing innovative, viable projects of interest to Dcoop. Awards For the 25 participants selected for EMPRENDECOOP 2025: Welcome pack. They will receive a certificate of participation and achievement. For the 5 participants of the winning team: They will be offered a four-month internship at DCOOP, at one of the Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias (Agri-Food Cooperatives) offices, or at a partner cooperative (they must have an open application at a university in Andalusia). Award presented on Demo Day. EMPRENDECOOP PROGRAM At Emprendecoop, young talents will be trained in different disciplines that foster their creativity and facilitate the design of innovative proposals to address the challenges facing DCOOP. Projects must be oriented towards one of the following thematic areas: Olive grove Cattle raising Nuts THE CAMPUS Training This phase consists of 10 training sessions, each approximately two hours long. The training will run from June 25th to July 28th, with approximately two classes per week. The training will be conducted online. Visit to DCOOP At least one visit to DCOOP will be held in July. During this visit, students will tour the facilities and participate in group activities. The visit will include travel and meals for the students. Specialized mentoring Mentoring sessions will be cross-cutting throughout the program. Each group of students will have the opportunity to participate in a maximum of three mentoring sessions on the topics they consider most useful for advancing the project they are working on. Wine Conference of Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain Ourense will host the Wine Conference organized by the Spanish Agri-Food Cooperatives on June 25th and 26th. The event will address current challenges in the wine sector and share successful experiences in the cooperative model. Sponsored by Santander Agro , the event will bring together institutional representatives, technicians, and industry leaders. The first day, Wednesday, June 25, will be dedicated to learning firsthand about the vineyards managed directly by the Viña Costeira cooperative in the province of Ourense. Attendees will be able to visit the vineyard and analyze how the cooperative-member-vineyard model works, guided by Carlos Alberte Pérez , Director of Viticulture at Viña Costeira SCG, and Andrés Rodríguez Gómez , president of the cooperative. On Thursday, June 26, a comprehensive technical conference will be held with various presentations analyzing the present and future of the wine sector.
