“Seeds of the Mediterranean: Water Management in Agriculture for Mediterranean Regions”

The webinar is organized by the Portuguese National CAP Network, the Greek CAP Strategic Plan and the Spanish CAP Network, members of the Mediterranean Cluster, a cooperation platform that brings together the National CAP Networks of the EU's Mediterranean Member States for monthly exchanges, moderated by the EU CAP Network. The participating countries of the Mediterranean Cluster are: Italy, France, Romania, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus and Croatia. During one of the recent face-to-face meetings of the Mediterranean Cluster, the idea arose to create a recurring series of webinars to give greater visibility to innovative projects, share transferable solutions between countries and strengthen collaboration in the Mediterranean region. As a result, in 2026 the Mediterranean Cluster will launch a new webinar series entitled "Seeds of the Mediterranean." This series will include a webinar every four months, each focusing on a relevant topic such as water management, climate resilience, natural resources, or agricultural innovation. Food security, sovereignty and resilience: the role of short marketing channels

On March 16, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., the webinar "Food Security, Sovereignty, and Resilience: The Role of Short Supply Chains" will take place online. Within the framework of the European projects EU4Advice and COREnet , this webinar addresses how short supply chains can strengthen food sovereignty and the resilience of local agri-food systems in the face of geopolitical, climate, and global supply crises. The session will begin with a presentation on French food safety regulations, followed by a roundtable discussion with experts who will analyze the CCCs from four perspectives: regulatory, technological, social innovation, and business model. Workshop for coordinators Horizon Europe 2026: Cluster 6, Cluster 5-Climate, 3 Missions and CBE

On Monday, March 16, at 9:30 a.m., CDTI is organizing a workshop for coordinators of proposals for the 2026 Horizon Europe calls . This in-person event will use the structure of Horizon Europe's three evaluation criteria (excellence, impact, and implementation) and the template provided to help participants ask the National Contact Points (NCPs) any questions they may have about preparing their proposals for each of these sections. Participants must register and send a draft of their proposals to lydia.gonzalez@cdti.es by Wednesday, March 11th (at 12:00 pm) . Only those who submit a draft of their proposals in advance will be admitted to the workshop. A minimum of one participant per coordinated proposal will be accepted, and the participation of a second participant will be considered. Those interested will be notified on the afternoon of March 11th, depending on the number of applications received. That same afternoon, or later in the day, the NCPs will schedule bilateral meetings with the participants to discuss their proposals and clarify any doubts they may have.

Virtual meeting with producers: development of the CCC individually

The RIA-CCC project is holding a new virtual meeting on March 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, dedicated to the presentation of experiences of producers who have developed their Short Marketing Channels individually. With the participation of Saifresc (Valencia), Carnes Robres (Castellón and Teruel) and Abejas de Cándido (Zaragoza), three initiatives from the horticultural, livestock and beekeeping sectors that have developed their own direct sales models adapted to their productive and territorial context. Albacete hosts free demonstration workshop on integrated agroforestry systems and carbon credits

Integrating crops, livestock, and trees in the same productive space is one of the strategies with the greatest potential to improve the sustainability and climate resilience of agriculture. With this focus, the second edition of the free demonstration workshop “Development of Integrated Agroforestry Systems: Carbon Credits” will be held in Albacete next Tuesday, March 17th. This in-person activity aims to show how agroforestry can optimize land use, improve biodiversity, and increase carbon sequestration . The workshop is part of a knowledge transfer project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and will have a strong practical focus. Throughout the day, the fundamentals of agroforestry systems, their environmental and productive benefits, and a design and management demonstration will be conducted to facilitate the adoption of these solutions in real-world contexts. Workshop Contents The program will cover, among other aspects: Introduction to agroforestry systems and their benefits for soil , biodiversity and carbon sequestration . UPA organizes a demonstration day on fertilizers and soil improvement in Cieza

On March 17, 2026 , UPA will hold a field demonstration day on fertilizers in Cieza (Murcia) , focusing on introducing the use of tools for soil improvement . The activity will take place at the facilities of Explotaciones Agrícolas Victoria CB , located in Polígono 25, plot 184 , from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM . The event is designed as a practical learning and exchange opportunity, aimed at providing the sector with tools and approaches that contribute to more efficient and sustainable management of agricultural land. In a context where soil fertility and the optimization of inputs are key factors for the sustainability and profitability of farms, this conference will allow for a deeper exploration of aspects related to the use of fertilizers and strategies to improve soil health, promoting a more resilient agricultural production adapted to current challenges. The Association for the Integrated Development of the Ambroz Valley (DIVA) will hold Activity 6 (A6) of the RURALMENTE project on March 19, 2026, in Aldeanueva del Camino (Cáceres). This activity focuses on “The importance of quality brands in the production, processing, and marketing of agri-food products.” This initiative is part of a knowledge-sharing program aimed at promoting promotional models that encourage PDO/PGI status in strategic rural areas of Galicia and Extremadura . The event will take place in the Marce “Forillo” Hall (Aldeanueva del Camino), from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is open to the general public , in addition to having a group of experts and coordination staff. Focus of the activity The seminar will address the role of quality brands as a lever for: strengthen product differentiation , improve transformation and marketing strategies, and generate territorial value linked to rural identity and certified quality. COAG is organizing a conference in Huelva on the CAP, sustainability and vineyard aid

On March 19, 2026 , COAG will hold the training day “No. 54 CAP. Environmental and social sustainability objectives. Other Public Policies” in Bollullos Par del Condado (Huelva) , a session focused on the new features of the Common Agricultural Policy, its future evolution and the flexibility and support measures for the wine sector. The activity will take place at the headquarters of Vinícola del Condado SCA , located at C/ San José, 2 , and is presented as a space for updating and exchange aimed at professionals in the agricultural sector interested in learning about the most recent changes linked to the CAP and other lines of public support for the vineyard. Under the title “CAP – New Developments. Flexibility and Temporary Exceptionality. Other Vineyard Aid,” the day will be structured into two thematic blocks. The first, scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. , will address the future of the CAP , with content dedicated to the post-2027 CAP, the framework of the new agricultural policy, and its general structure. Next, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. , a second block will be developed focusing on flexibility and temporary exceptionality , in which the measures planned for 2026 will be analyzed, as well as the actions established to alleviate the damage caused by storms and the flexibility mechanisms applicable in the CAP. The event will also allow for a focus on other public policies supporting the sector, particularly subsidies for knowledge exchange services and training and information activities at a supra-regional level . With this initiative, COAG reinforces its work supporting the agri-food sector through training actions aimed at improving knowledge of regulations, facilitating adaptation to regulatory changes and bringing useful information on sustainability, aid and agricultural management to the territory.

AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 will bring together the scientific and technological community in Córdoba around Artificial Intelligence applied to the agri-food system

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the agri-food sector, from primary production to the food chain. In this context, Córdoba will host AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 , the International Congress on Artificial Intelligence in the Agri-food System, a key event for professionals in AI, data, agriculture, and agri-food innovation, on March 19 and 20, 2026 . The congress will address the role of AI applied to agriculture and food, the advanced use of data, and science to drive sustainability and efficiency "from farm to fork." AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 is envisioned as a meeting point for scientific knowledge, technological development, and real-world impact in the sector. The event is organized by the University of Córdoba , through the ENIA International Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture , in collaboration with IFAPA and IAS-CSIC . The congress also has the support of various initiatives and programs related to digitalization, data, and innovation, both at the national and European levels. Alimentaria+Hostelco 2026 will celebrate its 50th anniversary in Barcelona with an edition marked by innovation

Alimentaria+Hostelco 2026 will return from March 23 to 26, 2026 to the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona to bring together the main players in food, gastronomy, foodservice and hospitality equipment in a particularly significant edition, as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of Alimentaria . The fair is thus consolidating its position as one of the major international platforms for the entire value chain of the sector, with the expected participation of more than 3,300 companies from 70 countries and the attendance of over 110,000 professional visitors . The event will occupy 100,000 m² distributed across seven pavilions , reinforcing its role as a meeting point for business, innovation, and the global projection of the food industry. One of the most notable features of this edition will be its strong international focus. Nearly 1,000 exhibiting companies will come from international markets, representing more than 30% of the total , with a 41% increase in international participation compared to the previous edition. Europe, Asia, and Latin America will have a significant presence, with Poland as the Country of Honor , reflecting the global reach of a trade fair that continues to gain strategic importance internationally. With the aim of fostering access to new markets and increasing business opportunities, the organization, in collaboration with ICEX , has invited 1,500 major buyers and importers from 100 countries , in addition to 1,200 domestic buyers . VII Meeting of the ModernAKIS National CoP. Demonstration activities as a tool for extension and innovation

On March 24, 2026 , starting at 10:00 AM , the VII ModernAKIS CoP Meeting will take place online, focusing this time on the role of demonstration activities as a tool for extension and innovation within the AKIS ecosystem. The meeting, which will be held via Teams in webinar format , will bring together representatives from the administration, innovation entities, technology centers, advisory networks and European projects to share experiences, approaches and best practices regarding the value of demonstration activities for knowledge transfer to the agricultural and forestry sector. The session will be presented by Irene del Corral, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) , and will begin with an update on the latest developments in the ModernAKIS project , presented by Amalia Hafner Táboas (FEUGA) . Following this, Juan Pedro Romero Trueba (MAPA) will address the role of demonstration activities within AKIS, introducing the central theme of the day. Throughout the morning, various experiences related to different areas of consulting and innovation will be presented.
