EU FarmBook Workshop on the Role of Young Farmers in Sustainable Water Management

The EU FarmBook platform, in collaboration with CEJA (European Council of Young Farmers) , invites you to participate in its upcoming online workshop entitled “Farmers as guardians of water resources” , which will be held on April 14, 2025 , via the Zoom platform. This event will focus on the key role young farmers play in sustainable water management. It will provide a forum for exchange between researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals, and will address the challenges, opportunities, and future needs surrounding responsible water use in agriculture. The GO HORSEDATA horse show holds an open day at the Yeguada Cartuja de Jerez.

On April 24th , the HORSEDATA Operational Group is organizing an Open Day at the iconic Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado , located in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) . The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to all project members and their guests, with a limited capacity of 50 attendees . During the event, the HORSEDATA project will be presented in detail, an initiative focused on the application of innovative technologies to improve horse welfare and monitoring. Attendees will also be able to take a guided tour of the areas where the technological arches have been installed , a key element in the project's development. The event will open with an opening ceremony, followed by a presentation of the project's objectives, progress, and results. The day will conclude with a space for interaction among attendees and the official closing ceremony. An excellent opportunity to learn firsthand how technological innovation is transforming the equine sector.

Conference "Forging the Future of Agriculture and the Agri-Food Sector"

On May 8, Brussels will host the "Vision for Agriculture and Food" Conference at The Square. Under the theme "Shaping the Future of Agriculture and the Agri-Food Sector," the event will bring together key stakeholders from the European agri-food sector, civil society, rural communities, and policymakers. The conference aims to strengthen consensus around the vision for the future of EU agriculture and its roadmap, discuss key initiatives, and collaborate on the future direction of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) beyond 2027. Plenary sessions will be streamed online without registration. The "Vision for Food and Agriculture" initiative seeks to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector by ensuring a stable food supply in the EU. It is based on the report of the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of EU Agriculture and consultations with the European Agriculture and Food Council. FUTURAL EU Rural Innovation Forum

FUTURAL (Powering the Future through Smart and Innovative Solutions for Rural Areas) is an EU-funded innovation project led by the Agricultural University of Athens, involving 21 partners from across Europe. The project seeks to test and pilot a set of community-led social, technological, and business innovations designed to generate lasting change through collaboration with rural communities. In this context, the project will organize its first EU-wide Rural Innovation Forum , a two-day networking event bringing together stakeholders from the rural ecosystem (such as FUTURAL multi-stakeholder pilot projects -MAPs-, rural innovators, rural networks, policy makers and implementers, EU-funded projects, organizations and entrepreneurs) with the aim of laying the groundwork for capacity building and experience sharing on smart community-led innovation in rural areas. Goals To increase the capacity of rural communities to implement and adopt social, technological, and commercial innovations by organizing a series of workshops on capacity development and policy and governance frameworks. The program for the 20th RUENA Conference (Network for the Efficient Use of Nitrogen in Agriculture), which will be held on May 29 and 30 in Valladolid, is now available.
