VIII International Postharvest Course 2025

Do you want to stay up to date with the latest advances in technology and post-harvest handling? Are you interested in learning about the main physiological changes and fruit rot in a practical way? Would you like to expand your knowledge of postharvest fruit physiology, technology, engineering, or pathology? It offers a comprehensive and multifaceted overview of the topic, combining basic and practical aspects. The course is aimed at professionals and has a limited number of participants due to the focus on encouraging participation among attendees, generating debate, discussing specific concerns and needs of companies, and presenting real-life cases in post-harvest handling. Internationally renowned researchers and IRTA technicians with extensive experience advising fruit and vegetable processing plants, as well as professors from the University of Lleida, teach this course. The course is aimed at professionals and students in the field of fruit preservation. The main objective is to provide knowledge and tools that can be used by both professionals working in fruit packaging/storage plants and by companies involved in post-harvest fruit handling: supply of phytosanitary products to prevent spoilage, post-harvest machinery, cold storage and controlled atmosphere installations, cold storage design projects, transport systems, packaging supplies, products that improve fruit quality, and cleaning and disinfection products.
