40 years of Spain in the EU: understanding the CAP to understand Europe

To mark the 40th anniversary of Spain's accession to the then European Economic Community , this meeting is conceived as a space for strategic reflection on the evolution and role of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in our country, as well as on the debates that will shape its future in the context of the post-2027 CAP and the new Multiannual Financial Framework . This is an in-person event with a clear focus on disseminating accurate information, aiming to bring the debate on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) closer to the public through rigorous analysis . For this reason, it will feature the participation of the main associations of specialized journalists in the agri-food, environmental, and rural sectors in Spain: the Spanish Association of Agri-Food Journalists (APAE), the Association of Environmental Journalists (APIA), and the Rural Journalists Network. The event will also include networking opportunities . The morning will be structured around different spaces for dialogue : Dialogue between national and European institutional leaders. Panel discussion on the past, present and future of the CAP in Spain. IV International Congress on Animal Health and Welfare

The General Council of Colleges of the Veterinary Profession of Spain will hold the IV International Congress on Animal Health and Welfare on May 7, 8 and 9, 2026 at the Ateneo Mercantil in Valencia , with the aim of maintaining and leading the enormous interest shown by professionals in the sector in these areas after the three previous editions in León, Córdoba and Madrid. The Veterinary Professional Organization understands both Animal-Human Health and Animal Welfare as fundamental to the One Health concept, and therefore must promote its Scientific-Technical progress and demonstrate the importance of veterinary activity in its development. Water resilience in agriculture: innovation in practice, by EU CAP Network

The conference “Water resilience in agriculture: innovation in practice” , a European meeting focused on innovation, knowledge exchange and the EIP-AGRI approach, will take place between May 19 and 21. The conference is organized with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Regional Identity (BMLEH) , the German CAP Network – DVS , the Lower Saxony EIP Agriculture and Innovation Network and the EIP-AGRI Innovation Office of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture . A European space to promote innovative solutions to the water challenge The aim of the meeting is to accelerate the adoption of innovative results in the agricultural and forestry sector , highlighting practical solutions and successful experiences that contribute to strengthening water resilience in European agriculture. The conference will be structured around the following thematic blocks : Circular water management Climate-resilient and less water-intensive crops and farming systems Irrigation efficiency, precision irrigation, and digital tools Nature-based solutions (NBS) Land management Water quality and water pollution The program will combine real-world case studies , interactive workshops , an innovation marketplace featuring solutions developed in collaboration with farmers, foresters, consultants, and researchers, as well as field visits to Germany to learn about applied experiences. Cadiz will host the XX SEFIN Congress and III BeMiPlant from May 26 to 28, 2026

Cádiz will be the meeting point for the scientific community dedicated to nitrogen fixation and, increasingly, to a broader field of research: beneficial interactions between plants and microorganisms . From May 26 to 28, 2026 , the Andalusian city will host the XX Congress of the Spanish Society for Nitrogen Fixation (SEFIN) , which this year also coincides with the third edition of BeMiPlant (Beneficial Plant–Microbe Interactions) . In recent years, the congress's focus has evolved from the study of symbiotic nitrogen fixation to a more integrative framework that includes multiple plant-microorganism relationships with an impact on crop productivity, sustainability, and resilience. This dual dimension (SEFIN + BeMiPlant) expands opportunities for collaboration, knowledge transfer, and the generation of new knowledge. Sending communications and registration dates (updated) The deadline for submitting communications is March 31, 2026 , and the official language of the congress is English , so abstracts must be submitted in this language (one communication per registration). Regarding registration , the congress website lists the updated dates: Early registration: until March 31, 2026 Late registration: until April 15, 2026 In addition, different fees are considered for members and non-members, as well as a junior modality (predoctoral and postdoctoral with less than 5 years since thesis defense), and the "late" fee implies an increase compared to the early one. The organization has also indicated that SEFIN Junior members can opt for payment by bank transfer , leaving the payment pending until the scholarship resolution; those who are not beneficiaries must complete the transfer after said resolution. NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL FAIR

It is a national, multi-sectoral fair held annually since 1960, perfectly consolidated, in which several productive sectors of our society coexist in harmony, where the most solid and which is a reference in all levels, continues to be that of agricultural machinery and irrigation, closely accompanied by the agri-food and livestock sector, as well as public works, renewable energies, automotive, etc., which complement the fair and for which FERCAM obtains excellent results year after year. It takes place every year at the FERCAM Fairgrounds, in the town of Manzanares (Ciudad Real), it consists of an open-air space of 120,000 m2 and a Covered Pavilion of 3,000 m2, both fully equipped with all services, it also has fully paved parking areas, with capacity for approximately 3,000 vehicles.

The Galiforest Abanca forestry monograph will celebrate its eighth edition from July 2 to 4, 2026 on the mountain of the Sergude Agroforestry Training and Experimentation Center, located in the town hall of Boqueixón (A Coruña). The II Iberian Symposium on Silviculture will be held within the framework of this event, the first edition of which was successfully carried out on June 26, also at the Sergude Agroforestry Training and Experimentation Center. The meeting has strong support from companies and entities with great relevance in the forestry sector such as the Galician Forest Industry Agency (XERA), the Galician association promoting PEFC Galicia forest certification, the School of Forestry Engineering of the University of Vigo, the Official College of Technical Forestry Engineering of Galicia, the Sergude Agroforestry Training and Experimentation Center, the Territorial Directorate of Commerce and ICEX in Galicia, Mañente Forest Nurseries, Frain Spare Parts, Guerra Industries, Hitraf, Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria, Guifor, Forest Pioneer, Finanzauto, Andreas Stihl and Abanca. A fair that keeps getting better The latest edition of Galiforest Abanca, which took place from June 27 to 29 last year, was the largest held to date, surpassing itself in terms of both the number of companies and exhibitors present, as well as the surface area and the number of attendees.
