40th National Irrigation Congress, in Albacete
Between June 11 and 13, 2025, it will take place at the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering and Forestry and Biotechnology of Albacete , located on the University Campus The Spanish Irrigation and Drainage Association (AERYD), the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the University of Castilla-La Mancha, the Albacete City Council, the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the Albacete Provincial Council are collaborating in the organization of this event, which will include technical-scientific sessions, working lunches, the Business Innovation Forum and technological demonstrations, among other activities. The conference will feature various papers on research, transfer, innovation, engineering, management, planning, and economic analysis activities in the field of irrigation. These papers will be organized according to the following topics: Interaction between environment and agriculture. Water sources for irrigation: underground, surface, non-conventional. Technology and digitalization at the service of irrigation. Irrigation engineering: Water-energy nexus. Water governance for irrigation. Special sessions dedicated to remote sensing and irrigation innovation During the course of the congress, a plenary session will be held with the provisional title "Remote sensing: present, past and future", which will be structured in a series of round tables around the following topics: Satellite-based remote sensing. Nanosatellites Drones in agriculture: a mature technology? New trends in remote sensing Companies will also be able to present their technological advances at the Business Innovation Forum, and demonstrations will be held on localized irrigation, pivot systems, drones, and pumping station management.
