Guide to the Super-Intensive Citrus Farming System

This document presents a new model of citrus cultivation system called Superintensive, i.e., high-density plantations with trees of reduced vigor with approximately 2,200 plants/hectare, narrower planting frames and hedge formation through the use of mechanized pruning, aimed at mechanized harvesting with riding equipment that shakes foliage, like a grape harvester.

Estimating crop water requirements using remote sensing

This publication describes an approach for estimating crop water requirements by integrating remote sensing information into the guidelines contained in FAO Manual 56. Accurate estimation of crop water consumption, or evapotranspiration (ET), allows irrigation inputs to be adjusted to actual plant needs. This would optimize water use, reducing the environmental impact of irrigation.

Remote sensing for agriculture

This publication provides a series of basic concepts on the use of remote sensing focused on the agricultural sector. The various sections of the document detail the fundamental characteristics and resolution of the data provided by remote sensors, as well as the main satellites currently available for agricultural applications.
