Description
Creation of rural processing centers, where products from local farms will be prepared for sale fresh or prepared into ready-made meals and delivered to the consumer's home through an e-commerce platform.
Objectives
- Obtain an increase in farm income by enhancing the value of their products through processing in the territory
- Turning products made on small farms into a recipe book of typical local menus, to be sent to homes as cooked and vacuum-packed dishes or as raw products.
- Take advantage of public or private facilities, such as school or restaurant kitchens, to convert them into receiving centers for raw materials and rural processing centers for menus for marketing.
- Recover productive potential by putting abandoned lands into operation to produce raw materials for the project
- Create jobs in rural areas, especially for young people and women.
Results
- Increase in the price paid for raw products at source, thus benefiting farms that achieve an extra value for their product.
- Preparation of takeaway food with quality local ingredients, primarily Galician beef from the project's farmers, honey, cheeses, and vegetables.
- Operation of CTRs in existing facilities, extending their useful life and improving the circular economy
- Renewal of abandoned or underutilized land, emphasizing the potential of rural areas, promoting investment in them (especially by young people), and communicating with the government to assist in the development of these lands.
