Description
Creation of rural processing centres, where products from local farms will be prepared for sale fresh or prepared into ready-made meals and sent to the consumer's home, through an e-commerce platform.
Objectives
- Increase farm income by adding value to their products through transformation in the area.
- Turning products produced on small farms into a recipe book of typical local menus to be delivered to homes as vacuum-packed, cooked dishes or as raw products.
- Take advantage of public or private facilities, such as school kitchens or restaurants, to turn them into raw material reception centres and rural menu processing centres for marketing.
- Recover productive potential by using abandoned land to produce raw materials for the project.
- Generate jobs in rural areas, especially for young people and women.
Results
- Increase in the price paid for the raw product at source, thus benefiting farms that achieve an extra value for their product.
- Preparation of takeaway food with quality ingredients from the area, mainly Galician beef from the project's farmers, honey, cheeses, vegetables and greens.
- Operation of CTRs in facilities that already existed, extending their useful life and improving the circular economy.
- Implementation of abandoned or underused land, focusing on the potential of rural areas, investment in them (particularly by young people) and communication with the Administration to help develop these lands.
- Hiring young people and women in the sector.
