Operating Group: OPTICURING

The objective of GO OPTICURING is to promote an innovation project that allows the automation of some of the manual activities carried out in the drying rooms and cellars of Iberian ham and loin, which will allow the quality and uniformity of this type of traditional products from Extremadura to be improved and, in this way, improve the economic efficiency and quality of the work to be carried out by the operator.

The main processes whose manual execution represents a handicap for the production process, for the company's operation and for the final quality of the product have been raised.

In this sense, based on available technologies in robotics, sensors and Machine Learning, automated systems will be implemented for the hanging and unhooking of hams on hangers and tensioning of loins, which will facilitate or eliminate some tasks that are currently carried out manually and require a lot of time and labor.
