  • Type Operational group
  • Execution 2021 -2023
  • Assigned Budget 505.519,66 €
  • Scope Supraautonómico
  • Autonomous community Asturias, Principado de; Galicia; Navarra, Comunidad Foral de

Description

Development of new feeds enriched with fungi and algae with antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Objectives
  • Design and develop functional raw materials based on fungi and microalgae for the livestock sector
  • To evaluate in vitro the antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and anti-inflammatory capacity and to analytically characterize the ingredients and formulated feeds.
  • To evaluate in vivo the efficacy of experimental feeds on the poultry farm
Results
  • Selection of species with the greatest antimicrobial, immunomodulatory and/or anti-inflammatory potential for pilot-scale production of fungi and microalgae
  • Microbiological and physical-chemical analysis of formulated feed
  • In vitro evaluation of the antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulatory effects of large-scale manufactured feeds
  • Establishment of several experimental batches and a control, evaluating different production, welfare, meat quality and sensory parameters, in addition to analyzing the immunomodulatory capacity through blood parameter analysis.
