Description

Development of new feeds enriched with fungi and algae with antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Objectives

Design and develop functional raw materials based on fungi and microalgae for the livestock sector
To evaluate in vitro the antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and anti-inflammatory capacity and to analytically characterize the ingredients and formulated feeds.
To evaluate in vivo the efficacy of experimental feeds on the poultry farm

Results

Selection of species with the greatest antimicrobial, immunomodulatory and/or anti-inflammatory potential for pilot-scale production of fungi and microalgae
Microbiological and physical-chemical analysis of formulated feed
In vitro evaluation of the antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulatory effects of large-scale manufactured feeds
Establishment of several experimental batches and a control, evaluating different production, welfare, meat quality and sensory parameters, in addition to analyzing the immunomodulatory capacity through blood parameter analysis.
