Description
Design of valorized zeolitic materials from an industrial waste as an alternative to the usual clarifying agents in the production of white wines (AlxVINO)
Contextual description
Clarifying white wine with bentonite results in losses of volume, polyphenols (which enhance organoleptic properties), and non-reusable waste. This project aims to develop synthetic zeolites from industrial waste as a more efficient and reusable alternative.
Results
-Successful synthesis of mesoporous and microporous zeolites from aluminum slag waste, but they do not clarify (remove proteins) efficiently. -Successful synthesis of mesoporous and microporous zeolites obtained from an attack using aluminum slag waste - the microporous zeolites do clarify efficiently. -Final validation with fresh white wine is pending to determine the extent of the solution.
