Abstract
Design and implementation of a short online sales channel in the form of an open and free-access marketplace, where consumers and B2B from HORECA can directly interact with 100% native breed operators through “virtual stores”, a digital e-commerce platform that manages the customer experience of the marketplace and, through an omnichannel protocol based on QR codes, introduces the traditional channel into the online world, to show the customer the livestock of origin and an intelligent interpretation of some attributes relevant to the purchasing process and the formation of consumer preferences (animal welfare indicators, extensification, etc.). In addition, provide the platform with a customer relationship management tool (CRM), automate marketing (social-commerce, banners, etc.) in the three phases - pre-sale, sale, after-sales -, an omnichannel tool based on competitive benchmarking and changes in purchasing preferences, and indicators (KPIs) that allow the activity of the model to be evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively, in order to control and manage the business.
Description

The project will launch an e-commerce app for products with the 100% native breed logo, a consumer information system based on artificial vision, and a control and management system focused on omnichannel customer experience through QR codes.

Contextual description

Digitalisation offers opportunities to address some of these short-channel and e-commerce business challenges and improve the efficiency and sustainability of extensive livestock farming in Spain by improving resource management, animal health, efficiency and profitability.

Objectives

Develop a digital e-commerce platform that manages the customer experience in a short online sales channel in the form of a marketplace, based on artificial intelligence (AI) and vision algorithms. Digitalisation offers opportunities to address some of these challenges and improve the efficiency and sustainability of extensive livestock farming in Spain by improving resource management, animal health, efficiency and profitability.

Results
  1. The project's outputs have as potential users the set of livestock farms with local breeds existing in Spain, which in 2021 were more than 94,000 (ARCA, 2022). We must also consider that the consumer information system based on artificial vision could be transferred to all types of extensive livestock farming with minor technical adjustments, so the potential users of this specific innovation could be 500,000 companies (MAPA, 2021). We consider that one in two livestock farms will adopt the digital platform with the completion of the project.
