Organic Production Course on regulations, advice, production and marketing

From April 13 to 16, 2026, the Course on Organic Production: Production, regulations, advice and marketing will be held in virtual classroom and online training format, a training proposal aimed at delving deeper into the key aspects that define the present and future of organic production in Spain.
The course will offer a comprehensive overview of this production model, covering everything from the European regulatory framework and control systems to the technical foundations of organic production, practical advice on different agricultural systems, integrated pest management, marketing and entrepreneurship.
The training will bring together leading specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) , universities, research centers and entities with extensive experience in transfer and innovation, allowing participants to access updated content applied to the reality of the sector.
A program to understand and apply organic production
The first day, Monday, April 13 , will focus on the regulations and controls for organic production during the PEPAC 2023-2027 period . The session will analyze current regulations, the foundations of official controls, available IT tools, control systems, and the role of organic farming within the rural development interventions of the current PEPAC.
On Tuesday, April 14, the basics of organic production will be addressed, with content dedicated to the technical foundations of organic agriculture, the ecology of agricultural systems, participatory processes of agroecological transition and the characterization of organic production.
The session on Wednesday, April 15th will focus on integrated pest management, marketing and entrepreneurship , including sessions on biological control and other plant protection methods, marketing strategies for organic products and basic keys to starting a business in this field.
Finally, on Thursday, April 16, the session dedicated to practical advice in organic production will take place, with examples applied to extensive organic crops, vineyards, ruminants and fruit trees, in addition to a presentation on the role of the experimental farm as a starting point for technical advice.
Specialized training for professionals in the sector
This course offers a specialization opportunity for advisors, technicians, farmers, livestock breeders, marketing professionals and people interested in the agroecological transition , by combining regulatory, technical and practical content with a perspective oriented towards innovation and the improvement of professional support.
The course is coordinated by Cecilia Bretal Koenig , from the Agri-food Training Division of the General Directorate of Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-food Training of the MAPA .
This initiative strengthens the training of professionals in the agricultural sector in a strategic area to advance towards more sustainable and resilient food systems that are aligned with the environmental and social objectives of European and national public policies.
