The main objective of this project is to analyze the identified problems and seek to provide solutions by improving and complementing marketing processes through potential digital solutions, as well as the application of innovation through the project's technological partner, ITAINNOVA. Specifically, the objectives to be addressed are:
- To give greater visibility to Gourmet Products from Aragon.
- Promoting Agri-Food Tourism in Aragon and analyzing ICT tools.
- Analyze the potential of other marketing channels and marketplaces specializing in gourmet products, both national and international.
- Bringing Aragonese products closer to the Horeca and culinary channels.
The secondary objectives to be addressed are:
- Strengthen communication about the main characteristics of gourmet foods, their nutritional quality, the quality marks they carry, raw materials used, health properties, history, etc., and their connection to the region.
- Improve collective experiential marketing, supporting and enhancing the Institutional Promotion Framework
To collectively increase the visibility of Aragonese companies in the food and beverage sector, and their products, by applying digitalization and artificial intelligence tools.
The two proposals to be developed within this project are:
- To develop a Digital Catalog of Gourmet Foods from Aragon to showcase the wide range of agri-food products that Aragon can offer for this sector through this digital tool that can unify Aragon's offerings. This catalog will be continuously available online and will be easily updated to meet changes and developments introduced by companies.
- To develop an Agri-Food Tourism Map of Aragon, which will provide a simple overview of the entire range of agri-food companies offering Food Tourism in Aragon, as well as to analyze the possibility of offering routes that combine several geographical areas and agri-food producers, and to make this offering available using the latest ICT technologies to achieve this objective.
We have identified the following problems related to the communication and promotion of food products and their relationship with consumers: There is a significant lack of awareness among Aragonese consumers about food products from Aragon, the existing quality brands and their main characteristics, their production and processing methods, the values they provide in terms of food quality and safety, their economic and social relevance for Aragon, and their connection to the region. Marketing of Aragonese gourmet foods through specialized channels, both traditional and digital, needs to be developed more broadly. There is no consolidated perception among Spanish consumers of Aragonese foods as gourmet products.
There is still a lack of involvement and use of ICTs by food SMEs (limited presence and communication on social media for companies and brands, images and videos about their activities, limited impact on their online store business model, etc.) as a means of communication and promotion, as well as a factor boosting sales and brand loyalty. There is a limited presence of Aragonese foods on the menus of numerous gastronomic events and/or other tourism-related activities. There is limited development of activities linked to Agri-Food Tourism, with the exception of the wine sector in Aragon, that would foster customer loyalty and engagement with gourmet food brands in Aragon. There is limited visibility and a lack of information on the production processes of Aragon's main agri-food products.
Develop a Digital Catalog of Gourmet Foods from Aragon to showcase the wide range of agri-food products that Aragon has to offer for this channel. It would be continuously available online and easily updated. And develop a Map of Agri-Food Tourism in Aragon, which would provide easy access to the entire range of agri-food companies offering Food Tourism in Aragon.
