Description
Saluscastanea aims to focus on the chestnut tree as a forest species, also a fruit producer, whose development is strategic in the rural life of the areas where it grows or is cultivated.
Therefore, the aim is to address habitat conservation through management as an active tool, bringing producers the necessary innovation to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. The goal is to involve and benefit all members of the value chain, from farmers/foresters to marketers and manufacturers, all the way to consumers.
The Saluscastanea operational group has members representing all of these agents.
Objectives
- Conservation and recovery of chestnut habitat through the application of innovative pest and disease control techniques.
- Use innovative and accessible methods for all members of the value chain, improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
