Description
This Operational Group was created with the aim of developing a computer application that reflects all the stages of the tomato production cycle in order to obtain the water footprint and the carbon footprint at the end of the campaign at all stages of the production cycle.
Description of activities
The following actions are among the most important:
- Create a versatile application, adapted to all tomato processing industries in Extremadura that are members of the Operational Group.
- Achieve independence in data management, allowing confidentiality of the specific phases of each processing industry.
- Manage the quantified environmental impact through the computer application.
- Allow replicability in other industries and other agri-food sectors, through the dissemination of results.
- Achieve continuity of application in processing industries once the project has been completed.
Objectives
This Operational Group was created with the goal of developing a software application that reflects all stages of the tomato production cycle, thereby obtaining the water and carbon footprints at the end of the season.
Among the actions to be carried out are the following:
- Create a versatile application, adapted to all tomato processing industries in Extremadura that are members of the Operational Group.
