Description
The GO addresses the 4.0 management of the entire fruit value chain, from harvesting to the point of sale, through digitalization and the application of ICTs in order to maintain initial quality and reduce losses.
Objectives
- Identification of critical processes and logistics activities in the chain that record the most product losses and their quantification.
- Definition of the environmental parameters to be controlled and critical ranges or limits for each type of fruit.
- Development of different freshness indicators for the incorporation of smart labels in containers and packaging or other surfaces.
- Design of storage, transport and distribution operations that allow stocks to be optimised and reduce costs, consumption and product losses.
- Development of different technological solutions that allow monitoring of the most influential critical stages in product quality, as well as 4.0 management of logistics processes
Results
- Identification of the most influential stages on quality loss, quantification of the losses originating at each stage and definition of the determining factors depending on the type of fruit.
- Selection of data acquisition devices for shock, temperature, humidity and gases.
- Definition of the ranges to be controlled during each stage and for each type of fruit.
- Detection and identification of fruit deterioration metabolites in response to different stress situations.
- Data on cost savings and product losses after the implementation of the new proposed modelApp capable of analyzing various indicators and deciding their useful life/associated parameters, devices capable of acquiring data and communicating it via GPRS/4G and a platform for centralizing and analyzing data.
