Cajamar celebrates the 5th edition of the Wefood Forum: innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability for the food industry of the future.

On November 4, 2025 , Cajamar will hold a benchmark meeting for agri-food industry professionals seeking to anticipate sector trends and learn about the innovation strategies that are transforming production, food safety, and sustainability at the Institutional Winery of Granja La Grajera, in La Rioja.
In this new edition, the Forum will delve into the major challenges facing the food sector of the future: how to respond to increasingly demanding consumers, ensure resource-efficient production, and feed a growing global population , without sacrificing quality, traceability, and environmental commitment.
The event will be structured around four thematic sections — Food and Health, Food Quality and Safety 4.0, Innovation with Impact, and Trends in the Wine Sector —and will feature the participation of executives from leading companies, researchers from technology centers, and experts in agri-food innovation .
The session will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the reception of attendees , followed by the institutional welcome by Noemí Manzanos Martínez , Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, and José Antonio Montero López , Regional Director of Cajamar Center.
At 9:45 a.m. , Carlos Picazo , co-founder and professor of data science and artificial intelligence at MIOTI , will offer the keynote address “Artificial Intelligence and Agri-Food Innovation,” a cross-cutting presentation that will explore the potential of AI as a driver of transformation and competitiveness in the food industry.
Block I: Food and Health (10:15 a.m.) will be moderated by Antoni Caimari (EURECAT) and will feature Rebeca Peñalva (Natur Pharma) and Alejandro González (Pascual) , who will present cases of innovation in functional and healthy products.
After the coffee break (11:00 a.m.), Block II: Food Quality and Safety 4.0 will address digitalization and new control tools with the participation of María José Sáiz (CNTA) and Javier Pastor (Martínez Somalo) .
Block III: Success stories (12:00 p.m.) will bring together inspiring experiences moderated by Patricia Larráyoz (EATEX) , with interventions by Pablo Franco (DOCa. Rioja) , Pablo Quijano (Las Jellys) and María José Bengoechea (Nulab) , who will share how innovation has contributed to the growth and differentiation of their companies.
Finally, Block IV: The future of the wine sector (12:45 p.m.), moderated by María Paz Diago (ICVV) , will address new trends in oenology and sustainability with the participation of Mayte Calvo (Bodegas Bilbaínas) , Eva López (Haro Oenological Station) and Chema Pangua (Sonsierra Laboratories) .
The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m. with a closing ceremony and a networking cocktail party (2:00 p.m.), allowing attendees to exchange ideas, network, and explore potential collaborations on innovative projects.
