GO OLIVITECH is organizing a demonstration workshop on aerobiological monitoring and prediction of olive diseases

On May 19, 2026 , the municipality of La Puebla de Cazalla (Seville) will host the demonstration workshop of the OLIVITECH Operational Group, a day focused on the application of advanced technological solutions for the optimization of olive grove management. Under the title “Optimization of Olive Growing through Technological and Aerobiological Analysis” , the meeting will be held from 11:00 to 12:30 and will focus on innovative tools to improve decision-making in plant health, with special attention to the monitoring of pollen and spores and the development of predictive models of diseases. During the session, attendees will be able to learn firsthand how aerobiological samplers work, key devices for anticipating phytosanitary risks and optimizing the use of treatments, thus contributing to a more sustainable and efficient agriculture. Innovation for a more sustainable olive grove The OLIVITECH project arose in response to the difficulty of predicting olive diseases such as olive leaf spot, olive pollen, and anthracnose, whose treatments pose significant environmental and economic challenges. In this context, the initiative is working on developing a tool that integrates data on the crop, climate, and pathogens to estimate the risk of infection and reduce the number of pesticide applications , thereby improving the sustainability and competitiveness of the sector. A technical program with a practical focus The workshop will feature experts from the fields of innovation, research, and business, addressing key issues such as: Optimizing the use of plant protection products The phenological evolution of olive groves in the context of climate change Disease prediction models Practical demonstration of aerobiological monitoring systems The event is aimed at farmers, cooperatives, advisors, technology companies, research centers, administrations and interested public , promoting the exchange of knowledge between the different actors of AKIS. Registration and financing Access to the workshop is free, although capacity is limited , so it is necessary to register before May 15th . Enoforum

ENOFORUM FAIR

Enoforum is a technical-scientific congress and a fair dedicated to wineries and wine companies. Objective: to bring together supplier companies, researchers, winemakers and winery and vineyard technicians to present the latest innovations and new technologies applicable to the sector. Enoforum, both in terms of the number of speakers and participants, is the largest technical congress dedicated to the wine and wine sector. For its 23rd edition, the event returns to the Zaragoza Trade Fair on May 20 and 21, 2026 . THE CONGRESS Enoforum arises from the encounter between: Public research, from which the ideas that give rise to new technologies often emerge. The supplier companies, whose R&D departments transform that knowledge into innovations applicable on a large scale. Viticultural technicians and oenologists, who as end users can contribute practical experience, identify real needs and propose new requirements. During Enoforum, interaction between these 3 pillars of innovation is facilitated, offering all participants the opportunity to contribute positively to the evolution and progress of the wine sector. Enoforum also reserves a prominent space in the program for supplier companies to present their solutions and technological innovations. It is a unique opportunity to showcase the results of research projects and to transfer innovation to a broad and highly qualified audience of experts. For more information: esp@enoforum.eu

Cadiz will host the XX SEFIN Congress and III BeMiPlant from May 26 to 28, 2026

Cádiz will be the meeting point for the scientific community dedicated to nitrogen fixation and, increasingly, to a broader field of research: beneficial interactions between plants and microorganisms . From May 26 to 28, 2026 , the Andalusian city will host the XX Congress of the Spanish Society for Nitrogen Fixation (SEFIN) , which this year also coincides with the third edition of BeMiPlant (Beneficial Plant–Microbe Interactions) . In recent years, the congress's focus has evolved from the study of symbiotic nitrogen fixation to a more integrative framework that includes multiple plant-microorganism relationships with an impact on crop productivity, sustainability, and resilience. This dual dimension (SEFIN + BeMiPlant) expands opportunities for collaboration, knowledge transfer, and the generation of new knowledge. Sending communications and registration dates (updated) The deadline for submitting communications is March 31, 2026 , and the official language of the congress is English , so abstracts must be submitted in this language (one communication per registration). Regarding registration , the congress website lists the updated dates: Early registration: until March 31, 2026 Late registration: until April 15, 2026 In addition, different fees are considered for members and non-members, as well as a junior modality (predoctoral and postdoctoral with less than 5 years since thesis defense), and the "late" fee implies an increase compared to the early one. The organization has also indicated that SEFIN Junior members can opt for payment by bank transfer , leaving the payment pending until the scholarship resolution; those who are not beneficiaries must complete the transfer after said resolution. Venue and logistical recommendations The congress will take place at two venues in Cadiz: Constitution of 1812 Building (Former La Bomba Barracks) , Paseo Carlos III, No. 3 Faculty of Philosophy and Letters , Av.
