Integrated forest biomass utilization unit

This Operational Group aims to design and develop an integrated forest biomass harvesting unit, adapted to the forest environment in the Iberian Peninsula, which will allow a reduction in costs in the collection of biomass from the forest to around 30-40% lower than the current cost.

Based on innovative developments carried out by the Finnish firm Fixteri, the aim is to achieve an optimal design for forestry exploitation equipment that allows simultaneous processing of forest biomass in a more efficient and integrated manner with commercial wood operations, destined for the bioenergy market.

The aim is to significantly reduce costs and provide a competitive advantage for companies in the sector and for the Spanish bioenergy industry in general.
