CEBA Operational Group IN GALICIA

This Operational Group aims to leverage all the added value in Galicia derived from the fattening, finishing, and marketing of dairy cattle, thereby promoting fattening as a primary activity or as a supplement to the income of farms previously dedicated solely to milk production.

To achieve this, it is first necessary to establish a methodological protocol for the entire process that the initial social operation of the Operational Group has been perfecting and implementing for years, involving the fattening, slaughter, and annual marketing of more than 3,000 calves. This protocol serves as a model of maximum efficiency for future farmers who join this activity.

Once the protocol is developed, all types of contact will be maintained with farmers to gradually implement the Friesian cattle fattening activity in Galicia. Finally, a business model will be implemented integrating the production and final marketing of the meat to the points of sale. In addition, farms would be eligible to receive the corresponding slaughter premium for each calf born, raised, and slaughtered, which is currently received by fattening farms in other autonomous communities.
