Abstract
The objective is to develop and implement new digital tools to improve the economic, environmental and social sustainability of beef cattle farms. The expected results consist of updating the GESVAC platform database, developing a mobile application for farmers, developing software for registering independent farmers, defining new sources of information on stallions and cows, developing alerts for unproductive animals based on determining thresholds for each parameter of nurse cows and integrating them into the platform and determining the quality of the meat in vivo, determining the optimal time of slaughter in pure breeds, determining the quality of the meat in vivo and determining the optimal time of slaughter in crossbreds, calculating the individual carbon footprint in pure breeds and crossbreds and a comparative study of the emissions emitted by each of the breeds under study.
Description
Improve farm profitability through a system of profitability indicators, comparative evaluation of farms, and exploration of new ways to compare animals based on their profitability and environmental sustainability. Obtain results for reporting at the request of farmers, cooperatives, associations, etc. Development of a mobile application for data query, development of software for registering farmers. Development of new functionalities related to suckler cows on the GESVAC platform. Optimization of software for performing in vivo ultrasounds. Calculation of animal enteric emissions and analysis of the correlation with the animal microbiome.
Description of activities
1) Updating the GESVAC platform database: Collecting and storing information on livestock farms and slaughterhouses. 2) Defining new developments and defining new sources of information for integration into the GESVAC platform: developing a mobile application, developing software for registering livestock farmers, developing alerts for unproductive animals, and developing new sources of information. 3) Optimizing and calibrating ultrasound software to assess the in vivo meat quality of calves: optimizing the ultrasound software, and performing on-site assessments of purebred and crossbred breeds. 4) Developing a system to calculate the environmental footprint of each animal on livestock farms for purebred and crossbred breeds.
Objectives

Develop and implement new digital tools to improve the economic, environmental and social sustainability of beef cattle farms. The aim is to facilitate access to information by farmers, develop new functionalities in the GESVAC platform, optimise the technique for determining the quality of beef in vivo and improve the environmental sustainability of farms through a more accurate and reliable calculation of individual animal emissions.
