Identification of new crops with high added value and a high manual workload adapted to social agroecology

The objective of the creation of this Operational Group is to carry out the proposals resulting from the project that aims to be a starting point for improving the productivity and sustainability of a group of companies dedicated to social agriculture through the incorporation of new crops. Based on the study of each of the companies, both at an agronomic and economic level, the cultivation conditions, the agronomic characteristics of the farms, as well as the marketing capacities are defined.

With this information, a potential list of new crops that may fit the specific conditions of each company is drawn up. From the initial list of crops, each one is filtered, determining which crops are discarded and which can be incorporated immediately, in the medium or long term. Finally, an action plan is drawn up that allows the implementation of the new crops in each of the farms.
