For the first time, the CNTA incorporates the "Agritech" macro-scenario in its Opportunity Scenarios Map.

The National Center for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA) has published the semiannual update of the Opportunity Scenarios Map , a reference tool for anticipating trends and detecting emerging areas of innovation in the agri-food sector.

The big news for this edition is the addition of a new macro-scenario: Agritech , which enters with a 2.2% share of voice and marks a turning point in the way we understand agri-food innovation.

"The emergence of agritech reflects the growing importance of innovation applied not only to final products, but also to the origin of the food chain: agriculture, livestock, and other primary production systems," the report highlights.

This new macro scenario encompasses technologies that are transforming the countryside through digitalization, automation, biotechnology, and regenerative agriculture . The food of the future, notes the CNTA, is no longer conceived solely in terms of alternative proteins or reformulation , but rather as the ability to produce more efficiently, resiliently, and sustainably from the very foundation of the food system .

Representative examples cited in the document include harvesting robots , regenerative agriculture initiatives that bring soil back to life, and biotechnological solutions such as climate-resistant hybrid potatoes .

The CNTA emphasizes that this emerging Agritech ecosystem, although still young, is beginning to establish itself as a key element in ensuring food security in a global context of climate pressure and resource scarcity .
