Beef cattle farming in Spain emits 66% less greenhouse gases than the world average

In a recent study published in the scientific journal Animal , Spanish scientists from the Polytechnic University of Valencia conclude that beef farming emits fewer greenhouse gases than the world average. The report ' Assessing the environmental impacts of beef production chains integrating grazing and landless systems ' reveals that the carbon footprint per kilo of beef produced in Spain is 66% lower than the global average and the water footprint is almost a third of the world average.
