Description
Seeking innovative solutions to mitigate the negative effects of global warming on the grape ripening process, composition, and quality, counteracting the reduction in anthocyanin levels, compounds that give color to red varieties.
Results
The ABA treatment was the most effective in mitigating the impact of climate change on grape color, without showing negative effects on other compounds. The response to the treatments was consistent in the Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. Changes were identified at the molecular level in processes related to the synthesis of phenolic compounds in the grape.
