Abstract
Considering the importance of forests to the planet, Sustainable Forest Management is essential to ensure that society's demands do not compromise future resources. However, this increasingly urban society has given way to an aging rural environment, lacking clear regeneration and where land management is complicated. This lack of generational renewal negatively impacts forest management. Therefore, this project aims to innovate in ways that incentivize and facilitate generational renewal in Sustainable Forest Management.
Description
It is a multi-year cooperation project between the technological sector through BATURA and the Basque forestry and timber sector through Baskegur and Basoekin, with the support and participation of the Forestry Associations of Araba, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa.
Objectives
The project's objective is to encourage, foster, and facilitate generational change in Sustainable Forest Management in the Basque Country through new technologies.
