Description
Sostvac will display real greenhouse gas emission data, adapted to the Spanish cattle production system with all its casuistry (meteorological aspects, animal breeds, ages, ration, etc.) in a large number of differentiated farms and feedlots, and will be able to assess the differences and points that need to be modified in the current predictive tools and systems, and verify that the mitigation measures proposed by official bodies are adequate, thus contributing to the sustainability of the sector.
Objectives
- Define, design, and draft the project for assessing the sustainability of the national beef cattle production system. The purpose of this project is to establish and assess actual GHG emissions from the two basic pillars of Spanish beef cattle farming: extensive (suckler cows) and intensive (calf fattening).
