Description
GO BIOCORK promotes and develops integrative initiatives and technological cooperation among all members to address the problem of the loss of cork production, through innovative techniques for the biorational control of the cork shingle (Coroebus Undatus) with the aim of minimizing the damage caused by the pest in cork oak forests distributed throughout the Spanish territory, as well as extending and adapting the advances and novelties in the biological control of the shingle, to all the producing autonomous communities, which are Catalonia, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Andalusia and the Valencian Community.
Objectives
- Implement the best techniques for the biorational control of the cork snake Coroebus undatus in the Iberian Peninsula.
- Minimize the damage caused by the pest in cork oak forests and thereby improve the quality of the cork.
- Reduce losses caused to the production sector.
- Contribute to improving the competitiveness of forestry and industry.
