Description

The Operative Group proposes the joint management of two types of organic waste, those from extensive poultry farms and, on the other hand, the plant remains generated in horticultural and forestry farms in the A Limia area, through ecological innovation, applying composting techniques to the joint management of these two types of waste, to obtain a product with high added value and its subsequent application in the horticultural crops of the area, as organic fertilizer.

It will be carried out on poultry farms, where plant remains produced in their surroundings are collected to mix with the poultry produced on the farm.

Objectives

Among the objectives:

  • Reduce the energy intensity of agricultural activities.
  • Increase the percentage of waste recycling; improve the efficiency in the use of natural resources.
  • Reduce the use of chemical fertilizers.
  • Sequester and stabilize in the soil, helping to mitigate climate change.
  • Reduce the costs of managing organic waste generated by poultry farms in the area and reduce the costs derived from the purchase of fertilizers from agroforestry farms.
