VAILUG-VILUP Operational Group: Comprehensive valorization of Galician hops in the Mariñas region

Operational Group for the promotion of innovation in hop cultivation in Galicia (As Mariñas region), with a study of environmental improvements in processes and technologies and the promotion of energy savings.

Sustainable management of water resources, along with efficient management of nutrients required by crops (fertilizers), using irrigation systems, complements the remaining activities.

Thus, a series of innovative initiatives have emerged in the use of biodegradable materials in farming in Galicia, transforming plant waste into usable byproducts on farms, analyzing their calorific potential for pellet production, applying criteria for the rational use of natural resources, water conservation, energy conservation, and fuel substitution.
