Operational Group: Oligosaccharides of Salix

The objectives pursued by this Operational Group are to obtain new high added value products for the forestry industry through a process of research into flint oligosaccharides, the characterization of surfaces where the possibilities of agronomic implementation of SRF (short rotation forestry) systems based on salgueiros are foreseen, as well as their integration with CAP greening and the design and definition of crop implementation and management patterns.

Finally, we aim to evaluate other potential benefits associated with agricultural and livestock farming: nutritional value as fodder, value as bedding or substrate, etc.
