Description
This Task Force aims to implement a new technology or production process that will impact the profitability of dairy farms in Galicia.
Objectives
The objective of the project, to be implemented and demonstrated on dairy farms in Galicia, is that designing farm lighting systems using long-day lighting cycles with cattle exposed to 150-200 Lux for 16-18 hours has a direct impact on cows' milk production, increasing it by up to 8-15%, in addition to impacting their electricity bills.
These results have already been demonstrated on farms in Michigan (USA), but their application in Spain is unknown.
