Description
The project aims to establish an organizational method to facilitate the use of local cork by wineries within the Empordà Designation of Origin (DO), as well as to propose a marketing strategy that highlights this Catalan cork extracted within the DO Empordà area of influence.
The project will foster relationships between owners of Catalan cork, cork preparers, cork stopper manufacturers, research centers, and wineries that use these stoppers.
Objectives
- Ensure the regeneration of forest stands.
- Increase cork oak forestry operations in Catalonia.
- Defend the ecological, environmental, social, and emotional values of the cork stopper.
- Make greater efforts in R&D&I investments, both at the product, technology, and new applications levels.
- Penetrating new emerging markets and new countries in the New World of wine.
- Build a communications strategy to positively impact the image of Catalan cork.
- Offering a new local wine product (bottle of wine), where both the wine and the cork have been produced in the DO Empordà area.
