Description
Active climate control inside greenhouses is an unquestionable factor when it comes to increasing fruit and vegetable production and optimizing commercial supply periods.
Given that the current basis for energy supply associated with climate control is conventional sources, and given the potential for consumption growth associated with the above circumstances, the implementation of efficient energy systems and the promotion of specific renewable alternatives in this area must be a priority objective.
This project will study the use of three greenhouse heat input technologies derived from leading national and international projects:
- Condensing boilers fueled by biomass and biofuels with agricultural reuse of combustion gases
- geothermal heat pumps electrically activated by photovoltaic solar energy and
- advanced solar thermal collectors (concentrators and UHV-Ultra High Vacuum).
This project meets and contributes to the AEI's objective of sustainable resource management.
Objectives
- Demand and market assessment.
- Definition of specific technical solutions.
- Technical-economic analysis.
- Start-up and analysis of a pilot installation (at least one of them).
