Description

The Task Force seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the sector's problems and promote the production of organic subtropical fruits.

Description of activities
  • Consultations will be held with technicians and producers to assist in a more accurate diagnosis of the situation and identify the bottlenecks in the production of organic subtropical fruits in this area.
  • Organization of training activities that address cultivation techniques, commercial topics and associative aspects that promote the creation of producer networks that facilitate the exchange of information and the joint approach to certain problems,
  • Exploration of new marketing channels, giving priority to the development of short and local channels, will promote the use of traditional practices and local inputs for the conservation of soil fertility, sustainable use of water resources and the control of pests and diseases and
  • Support for crop diversification, both at the species level, some of which may have a niche in organic farming that they cannot find in the conventional market, and from a varietal perspective, which is restricted to almost a single variety in the two major crops in the area, mango and avocado, which represents a clear threat to the sustainability of these crops in the medium term.
