There are many international, national and regional research projects that have been funded to generate useful knowledge about organic viticulture and whose results should be made known and put into practice among winegrowers and producers in the Marco de Jerez, in order to contribute to developing a more environmentally friendly wine industry, diversify production with new oenological products and contribute to the development of small businesses and job creation.
The Task Force aims to develop organic viticulture within this framework. It aims to make winegrowers aware of and implement new vineyard management techniques that improve soil quality, reduce the risk of erosion, transfer of agrochemicals to water, capture atmospheric CO2 and subsequently store it in organic form in the soil, and limit the excessive use of agricultural inputs, as well as increasing biodiversity and the proliferation of natural enemies that facilitate the management and control of pests and diseases.
As well as promoting the use of native grape varieties and the recovery of ancient oenological practices that can give personality to the wines produced in this area, contributing to the diversification of oenological products and the creation and development of new small businesses and job creation.
