A preliminary report on the Sustainability Barometer for the Spanish wine sector has been presented.
Description
Cajamar Caja Rural and the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) presented at Barcelona Wine Week a first look at the Sustainability Barometer for the Spanish wine sector , a tool linked to the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection seal (promoted by the FEV and with more than 148 certified wineries ). The barometer will provide a snapshot of wineries' performance across the various pillars of sustainability and measure their progress over time.
Although the final report will be published in the coming months, Cajamar and FEV emphasize that preliminary data indicate the sector is strengthening its sustainability to adapt to the growing demands of distributors and consumers. Cajamar's president, Eduardo Baamonde , highlighted the value of the barometer as a rigorous tool for measuring and communicating verifiable progress , noting that the data already shows "compelling" results that demonstrate the sector's commitment and action.
For his part, FEV President Pedro Ferrer framed the publication of the barometer within the 10th anniversary of the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection certification, which, he indicated, has become a leading industry benchmark. He also thanked Cajamar for its involvement and praised the certified wineries for leading a sustainable and long-term transformation.
