COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF RD 306/2020 TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE ON PIG FARMS IN CONTACT WITH ANIMALS HAVE ADEQUATE AND SUFFICIENT TRAINING AND ACQUIRE THE BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY TO START OR CONSOLIDATE A PROFESSIONAL CAREER IN THE SECTOR.

TOPIC 1. Characteristics of pig production.
- a) Morphology and physiology of the porcine species.
- b) Food and housing systems.
TOPIC 2. Animal health, hygiene and biosecurity.
- a) Biosecurity in pig farms and good hygiene practices.
- b) Actions to prevent animal diseases and zoonoses.
- c) Inspection and observation of sick animals.
- d) Recognition of symptoms/syndromes associated with notifiable diseases. Passive surveillance and reporting obligations to the competent authorities.
- e) Measures to combat animal diseases.
- f) Interaction between animal and human health.
- g) Initial training in animal welfare.
- h) Resistance to treatments, including antimicrobial resistance and its consequences.
- i) Introduction to the regulations governing training for biocide treatments.
