Primarily aimed at livestock farm workers, unemployed workers in the sector, and people who wish to enter this activity.

Goals:

Meet the requirement of Royal Decree 1053/2022, of December 27, to ensure that all persons working with cattle have adequate and sufficient training and acquire the basic skills necessary to begin or consolidate a professional career in the sector. Obtain the certificate from the Government of Aragon.

Content:

1. Characteristics of cattle production: a) Morphology and physiology of cattle. b) Feeding and housing systems. c) Animal behavior and habits of cattle. 2. Animal health, hygiene, and biosecurity: a) Biosecurity on cattle farms and good hygiene practices. b) Actions to prevent animal diseases and zoonoses. c) Inspection and observation of sick animals. d) Recognition of symptoms/syndromes associated with notifiable diseases. Passive surveillance and reporting obligations to the competent authorities. e) Measures to control animal diseases. f) Interaction between animal and human health. g) Interaction with animal welfare. h) Treatment resistance, including antimicrobial resistance, and its consequences.

3. Management: a) Post-breeding management. b) Pre-partum, parturition, and puerperium management. c) Weaning management. d) Fattening management. e) Milking management. 4. Environmental management and combating climate change on farms. a) Manure storage. b) Manure management. c) Nitrogen compound management. d) Emission, noise, and odor management. e) Water and energy consumption. 5. Recording information and documentation. 6. Current regulations at European, national, regional, and local levels.
