Environmental assessment and mitigation of dairy and meat systems in sheep and goats in CLM
Description
On October 22 and 23 , from 12:00 to 14:00 , a virtual course on the effects of climate change on the management of sheep and goat farms will be held, aimed at professionals in the sector. The main Greenhouse Gases (GHG) generated by these farms will be addressed, in addition to the actions of CERSYRA , such as the creation of a model to estimate environmental impacts and the comparison between grazing and stabling in terms of emissions. The sustainability indicators for meat and milk will also be explained, both in stabling and extensive grazing, analyzing carbon, water and energy footprints, among others, and mitigation practices at the farm scale. The course will end with conclusions on sustainability in the sector. A key event to improve environmental management in livestock farming!
