The project entitled: " New Economies and Social Innovation in the creation of sustainable and quality employment ", promoted by the NESI Forum of New Economy and Social Innovation, is being developed for the second time in Spain, this time with Andalusia and Extremadura as its areas of action, two autonomous communities particularly affected by very high unemployment rates.
The project has been approved under the 2019 call for proposals for the employsverde program, an initiative of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition , and is co-financed by the European Social Fund , making it free of charge for participants.
Who is it for?
The project was born with the aim of offering innovative training to unemployed people, aimed at securing quality training and employment, based on training in New Economies and Social Innovation as tools for a green and low-carbon economy.
It will be held in Andalusia and Extremadura and has 60 places , some of which will be dedicated to serving priority groups such as women, young people up to 35 years old, people over 45 years old, immigrants, people with disabilities, or residents of protected areas and/or rural zones.
The application period to participate in the training is open until January 24, 2020 , upon registration using the following online form .
What does it consist of?
The training, which will begin on February 10 in Extremadura and on February 17 in Andalusia , will be carried out in three phases .
The first phase will be held in person, with participants trained by some of Spain's leading experts in New Economies and Social Innovation.
The second phase will be delivered remotely through Professional Webinars on the tools and models of the New Economies themselves, applied to different sectors. This phase will be completed with Talent Webinars based on a coaching philosophy, to incorporate and develop essential personal skills to enhance professional profiles in the labor market.
The third and final phase will be a hybrid approach, combining in-person and virtual training . Participants are the protagonists and responsible for their own positioning. Working groups will be held to explore the applicability of the concepts learned and develop skills. Hiring sessions will also be held, activities that promote interaction with companies of interest with the goal of creating a real connection and an opportunity to gain visibility.
Why train in New Economies and Social Innovation?
The international community has set the year 2030 as the target year for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and also for assessing the climate change objectives defined in the Paris Agreement . However, the United Nations' own monitoring indicators have raised alarm bells, revealing that we are still far from achieving them.
There is an urgent need to change economic models to be more respectful of people and the planet. New Economies (circular economy, green economy, common good economy, transition economy, and blue economy, among others) offer real tools and solutions applicable to all types of sectors and are supported by the European Union through the Opinion "New Sustainable Economic Models."
These new models must be implemented by companies and organizations to address the environmental and social challenges we face. However, currently, companies are still unable to implement these new models, due, among other reasons, to a lack of trained and qualified personnel in these areas .
Training people in New Economies and Social Innovation offers a solution to two current shortcomings. On the one hand, there is a lack of experts in these fields, something increasingly in demand by companies. On the other, there is a need to recruit people with this profile into organizations so they can be "seeds of change" by proposing actions related to New Economies and Social Innovation.
At NESI , we firmly believe in continuous improvement, aiming for excellence, quality, and innovation to generate impact in organizations and greater added value for professionals in transition.
