GO TecnoTRUF is organizing a webinar on truffle cultivation and new technologies
Description
- The meeting will be held on June 17 at 12:00 pm and will address the progress of the project, the experimental plots, the efficient management of truffle irrigation and the traceability of the black truffle of Teruel
The TecnoTRUF project is organizing the webinar “Truffle Farming and New Technologies” on June 17th at 12:00 pm , an online event focused on showcasing the project's progress and the role of technological innovation in improving the management of truffle plantations.
The meeting will bring together different specialists linked to the sector to address key issues such as truffle cultivation, the characterization of experimental plots, agronomic monitoring, the efficient use of irrigation water and the traceability of the product through the PGI of the Black Truffle of Teruel .
The event will provide an opportunity to showcase the work carried out within the framework of TecnoTRUF, as well as the results and objectives achieved so far, with special attention to the application of new technologies to improve the efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of the truffle sector.
Innovation applied to truffle cultivation
The webinar will begin at 12:00 PM with opening remarks by the Aragon Food & Nutrition Cluster . Following this, at 12:05 PM , the TecnoTRUF project will be presented by Ricardo Forcadell , forestry engineer and technical director of Mytruff, SL. This session will cover the project's objectives, cultivation methods, and key advancements.
At 12:20 pm , Luz Cocina , agricultural engineer and technical director of MicoLab, will present the session “The Tecnotruf Project: Experimental Plots and Management Practices.” Her presentation will focus on the selection of experimental plots, data collection, climate and soil characterization, mycorrhizal evolution, and the cultivation practices applied in plots in Guadalajara, Teruel, and Castellón.
Later, at 12:35 pm , José Javier Peguero , a biochemist and researcher at CITA, will address new technologies for the efficient management of truffle irrigation . His presentation will analyze the importance of the physiological state of the holm oak as the truffle's host tree, the holm oak's response to drought in the soil and atmosphere, and the intelligent management of irrigation water through the use of new, non-destructive technologies.
Product traceability will be the focus of the presentation scheduled for 12:55 pm , entitled “Product Traceability through the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) of the Teruel Black Truffle.” The session will be led by Isabel Doñate , Communications and Development Officer of ATRUTER , the Association of Truffle Growers of the Province of Teruel – Teruel Black Truffle.
The webinar will end at 13:10 with a question and answer session and closing remarks by ZINNAE – Cluster for the efficient use of water .
