Abstract

The VERIDO project offers an AI-based platform that automatically scans the web to detect fraud and misuse of quality brands such as Jamón de Teruel (Teruel Ham) or Melocotón de Calanda (Calanda Peach). Its main result is a real-time monitoring system that identifies counterfeit labels or misleading descriptions through image and text analysis. For professionals, this means moving from slow, manual searches to a proactive and automated defense of their brand's reputation.

In practice, implementing this knowledge offers enormous benefits: it reduces labor by 70% and digital monitoring costs by 40%. By detecting infringements up to 30 days earlier than traditional methods, unfair competition can be curbed before it damages market value. For farmers and producers, the added value is clear: protecting their hard-won premium status guarantees consumer confidence and increased productivity. With a projected return on investment in less than two years, this tool is a smart business choice for securing the future of truly high-quality food.

Description of activities

The VERIDO project has just begun, so it's difficult to analyze any results right now. A first database of fraud cases has already been created to feed the artificial intelligence matrix, which is currently under development. As the project progresses, this matrix will be expanded and the AI's capabilities refined over the coming years.

Objectives

VERIDO addresses online fraud and misuse of PDO/PGI products. Currently, these issues are handled manually and reactively, damaging reputation and consumer trust. The solution is an Artificial Intelligence system (machine learning and NLP) for proactive and automated real-time monitoring of the digital market. This will allow for the early detection of infringements, reducing manual work hours by 70% and guaranteeing the authenticity of Aragonese brands.
