The project aims to provide the dehydrated feed sector with digital tools that improve the way it works and achieve better results on farms, in the processing processes, and in marketing. To this end, work will be done on activities throughout the production chain, measuring their carbon footprint, certifying them with blockchain, and liberalizing the results achieved.
Project focused on the traceability and carbon footprint of dehydrated protein fodder through a cloud-based information system that allows the entire management process of dehydrated fodder production, a calculator that allows each entity to determine its carbon footprint through the characterization of its facility and production, the implementation of an auditable system of operations based on blockchains, a set of repositories of results generated by the project (source code, knowledge models, etc.) that is accessible to the entire sector, and a guiding model for the technical, organizational, and economic exploitation of the possibilities offered by the implementation of traceability systems and carbon footprint quantification. All this using open science models, open knowledge and free software, and possibilities for exploiting carbon footprint reduction.
The project is structured into implementation activities and dissemination activities.
- Execution:
- Conduct an analysis and design of the information system. Two prototype iterations will be built and validated through numerous tests. Design and build the software application that performs this role.
- Select a base blockchain technology on which to design and implement the blockchain to be used.
- Develop a guide that will serve as a reference for the sector in reducing its carbon footprint and how to economically leverage this reduction.
- Divulgation:
- Maximum dissemination of the results will be achieved through various release models: web, trade shows, meetings, and exchanges.
To have a comprehensive management system for the entire dehydrated fodder production chain; a reliable system for measuring the carbon footprint of dehydrated alfalfa production; and a transparency tool that allows the processes carried out in the different stages of dehydrated fodder production to be displayed in international markets.
