Description
Validation of the use of drones as a safe and effective alternative compared to conventional pesticide applications (rigorous analysis of risks, scenarios, applications, and equipment).
Objectives
- Define the protocol for conducting tests to determine drift and potential environmental risks
- Comparative assessment of operator exposure values and risks using unmanned aerial equipment
- Develop the technical characterization protocol for unmanned aerial application equipment
- Comparative assessment of quality, accuracy, and efficiency of application with unmanned aerial vehicles, and comparative analysis of application effectiveness, range, and cost.
- Generation of a proposal for consideration by the competent authority on the regulation of the application of phytosanitary products with unmanned aerial equipment
Results
- Comparison of the results obtained with the soil drift and deposition values used for the current EU assessment to determine aquatic and terrestrial risk
- Development of the first non-dietary human exposure testing protocol, published with ISBN: 978-84-17528-69-0
- Preparation of the technical characterization report for unmanned aerial equipment for the application of phytosanitary products and evaluation of commercial equipment
- Development of the first testing protocol for determining the efficacy of drone treatment in citrus fruits, as well as residues in the fruit, published with ISBN: 978-84-17528-69-0
- Document with a regulatory proposal for the new regulation of aerial applications of phytosanitary products with unmanned aerial equipment
