Description

The project aims to develop strategies, in the pre-harvest and post-harvest stages, for certain active ingredients that are candidates for substitution in stone fruit, berries and table grapes.

Objectives
  • Contribution of objective data to the “Comparative Risk-Benefit Assessment of each active ingredient” (to be carried out by each Member State for EFSA).
  • Design of different substitution protocols with new agronomic strategies and innovative post-harvest technologies that reduce the use of phytosanitary products and extend the product's shelf life.
  • Calculation of the socioeconomic and environmental impact before and after implementing the substitution protocol using production cost analysis, indicators of auxiliary fauna (biodiversity), input consumption, productivity and fruit quality, among others. Dissemination and promotion of the different substitution protocols developed and training for the sector.
