Description

Develop a new integrated disease, pest and weed control programme that rationalises the use of phytosanitary products and increases the availability of phytosanitary products for cherry trees.

Objectives

Design a new integrated pest and disease control programme for cherry cultivation in Extremadura and Aragon.
Promote the availability and registration of new phytosanitary products.
Economic, biological and environmental assessment of the new integrated pest and disease control programme in cherry trees.
Analysis of results and conclusions

Results

Demonstration of the effectiveness of pest and disease risk estimation methods as decision-making support systems and determination of thresholds and moments of intervention.
Design and evaluation of new integrated pest and disease control systems.
Conducting demonstration trials for the new programme. Publication of a field guide to pests and diseases and development of analytical methods for determining residues of phytosanitary products.
New phytosanitary products available and registered for cherry cultivation in Spain.
Economic assessment of the effect of the new programme and its impact on biodiversity and the environment, reducing residues of phytosanitary products.
Report of results and conclusions of the project activities.
