Description
The project aims to eradicate bitter almond from marketing channels by implementing actions from production to industry and involving all links in the supply chain and all administrations.
Objectives
- Identification of almond trees and/or branches with bitter almonds in the field in order to carry out an action programme such as elimination, new plantations or control measures, including uprooting.
- Identification of bitter almonds in agroindustrial processing.
- Raising awareness among farmers and rural residents regarding the proper handling of almonds through awareness-raising sessions and campaigns.
Results
- Development of an app that allows bitter almond trees to be identified and geolocated.
- Development of a prototype for the identification of bitter almonds in production lines using artificial vision systems in the industry/cooperative.
- Awareness campaigns on the importance of the topic addressed in this project, dissemination and collaboration.
