AKIS Advisors Platform at the RedPAC event to exchange experiences between Precision Livestock Farming GOs
Description
On May 21st, RedPAC organized an event to exchange experiences between Operational Groups and Innovative Precision Livestock Projects, which took place at the La Vega Innova iHub in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid). The event was attended by Natalia Villalobos, Deputy Assistant Director of the Ministry of Innovation and Digitalization (MAPA), and Alba Gallardo, a member of the same deputy general directorate. During the meeting, various operational groups had the opportunity to present the progress, developments, and results of their projects:
- BOVIEX 4.O : Technological improvement in extensive cattle production in Spain
- GO BEERISK : New molecular tools for rapid monitoring of honey bee diseases in apiaries in the province of Granada
- DIAGNOSCORD : Monitoring lamb movement and temperature in a controlled environment to develop algorithms that advance disease diagnosis.
- SMART FARM : Development of digital twin technologies in different types of pig farms to improve management and production efficiency.
- SMARTGOAT : improving and digitalizing the goat industry, integrating advanced technologies to optimize goat farm management and improve product traceability.
- GO Galician Network of Model Farms : a pilot network of farms that will allow for the continuous collection of technical and economic data for monitoring production costs, which are key to ensuring the economic viability of farms.
For its part, the AKIS Advisors Platform was able to participate and inform speakers and attendees about the purpose, services, and benefits of this MAPA initiative for the transfer of experiences, innovations, and knowledge in the agricultural and livestock sector.
Following the presentations by the various operational groups, a joint working session was held in which technological solutions were presented (with the participation of companies such as Digitanimal, Optimuu, DeepFarm, OppGroup, Vacapop, and Ixorigue). The day concluded with a participatory discussion on the present and future of the agricultural and livestock sector through collaborative problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
Among the aspects that those present highlighted as important for the sector's development, they cited the need for knowledge-sharing spaces that serve everyone and are recognized as benchmarks, as well as for innovative companies to take into account the opinions of livestock farmers, their real needs, and their capacity to invest in technology.
During the exchange and networking sessions of the day, information about the Platform 's new Advisor Support service was detailed. and the Digital Tools, Media Library, and DIGIMAPA sections, among others, inviting speakers and attendees to learn about the services and benefits available upon registering for this service.
