The GO Simbioliva project will organize an online webinar on June 9, 2026 focused on disseminating innovative solutions aimed at the sustainable valorization of olive pomace and the circular economy in the olive sector .

The session will be held at 11:00 a.m. in a virtual format and will allow participants to learn about the progress of this initiative, which aims to combine physical-chemical processes and biological treatments to reduce the presence of polyphenols in olive pomace and facilitate its agricultural and environmental use.

The project proposes a strategy based on technologies such as three-phase centrifugation and increased temperature in thermomixing to promote the solubilization of polyphenols, complemented by the application of specific microorganisms capable of degrading these compounds and reducing treatment times.

With this, Simbioliva seeks to develop a Nature-Based Solution that directly contributes to the sustainability of the olive and agricultural sector.

The main expected results of the project include:

• the development of a polyphenol extraction process that facilitates its future valorization,
• a biological treatment to reduce the polyphenols present in olive pomace,
• the production of biofertilizers through improved bacterial consortia,
• and the development of new soil symbiotics from organic amendments and biofertilizers.

The initiative is part of a circular economy approach aimed at promoting a more sustainable use of olive pomace and generating new innovation opportunities in the agri-food sector.
