Acute effect of oat ?-glucan on the bioavailability of orange juice flavanones

El impacto del b-glucano en la biodisponibilidad de las flavanonas del jugo de naranja (OJ) se investigó en un ensayo controlado aleatorizado. Los voluntarios consumieron 500 ml de jugo de naranja sin o con 3 g (OB-3) o 6 g (OB-6) de b-glucano. Las muestras de orina, recolectadas 12 h antes y durante un período de 0 a 24 h después de la suplementación, se analizaron mediante cromatografía líquida de alta resolución y espectrometría de masas de alta resolución.

A rapid quantification of stilbene content in wine by ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry

Stilbenes are a family of bioactive phenolic compounds. Wine is one of the main sources of stilbenes in diet. Very few studies have dealt with a detailed quantitative analysis of stilbenes in wine. Most methodologies reported until now have been restricted to the analysis of few stilbenes such as resveratrol and piceid. In this study, a method for the quantification of wine stilbenes has been developed and validated. The method was simple, fast and sensitive with LOD between 4 and 28??g/L.
