Fire Protection Course in the Agri-Food Industry. ATEX Fires.
Description
This course will focus on the design of protective measures and the drafting of documentation related to fire protection in the agri-food industry. The approach will be practical, explaining the most appropriate technical solutions for each situation and the requirements of current regulations, specifically the new Royal Decree 164/2025, of March 4, which approves the Fire Safety Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
The main concepts necessary for understanding the general aspects of fires will be explained: activation and combustion results; activation energy and ignition sources; prevention and protection; and documentation during the execution of the works.
The main applicable standards for fire protection in the agri-food industry will be described, indicating when each should be applied and how they are combined. Some specific standards and frequently applied UNE standards will also be discussed.
The necessary documentation for industrial projects will be outlined, with examples of their application to the agri-food industry. Apparatus, equipment, systems, and components of fire protection installations will be included. The minimum requirements for companies engaged in the installation and maintenance of these systems, as well as for their commissioning, will also be established.
GOALS:
- Acquire regulatory and technical knowledge on fire and explosion prevention and protection, with special attention to the risks inherent to the agri-food industry.
- Learn about the new features and/or changes introduced by the new regulations approved by Royal Decree 164/2025, of March 4, which approves the Fire Safety Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
